Demo Launch: Notes & Gameplay Tips
Hello everyone! We've been working on Day After Day for a little while now and are very excited to share what we have so far. Hooray for demo release day! If you're currently playing/are going to play the demo and would like to make sure you see all the available conversations, here are some tips:
- The 'Explore' button in the map screen will unlock all of the locations for you
- Eden is only available in the cafe from 12:00 to 12:59
- Enzo is only available in the cafe from 13:00 to 13:59
- The shadowy figure can only be found by clicking on the wanted poster in the alley during the afternoon hours of 12:00 to 15:59
- Going to the manor ends the demo. It's the only ending to the demo currently available.
- Vera (the MC) is a bit of a jerk by design. Depending on your playstyle, she will have the ability to mellow out in the full version. This game takes a lot of inspiration in the movie Groundhog Day and how a timeloop can challenge a person's psyche and break them down.
Not everything is as polished as I might've liked in time for Otome Jam release. Here's what I currently know needs work:
- UI bits disappear and reappear at times (Vera's portrait, the quick menu icons, the clock)
- Not all the expression changes are in (namely the scenes with Enzo, Gray, and the Shadowy figure)
- Quests don't show yet in the Journal screen
- All the skill checks are at 'Medium' difficulty
I apologize for these shortcomings and will work hard to address them quickly. Please feel free to comment any other bugs or issues you may have. I'm also working on a couple more fun additions as well! Please look forward to more dialogue with Moss (including options that lead to revealing how he feels about Vivi) and the ability to have a second conversation with Sian. I hope to have these done in time for our Kickstarter launch, which will come in just a couple of weeks.
